Complex papercut
Paper cut by Hans Christian Andersen (No. 27569)

Next week

We hope you have enjoyed week 5 of the course and gained insight into new facets of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales and their way of raising modern questions.

Next week PhD student Torsten Bøgh Thomsen will introduce you to another of the author’s “new fairy tales”, ‘The Red Shoes’. We’ll see how he invents a new kind of dialogue with the “old folk tale”.

In Week 6 we will also invite you to write an essay on Hans Christian Andersen’s topicality and cross-cultural relevance. You can practice all you have learnt during the courses and draw upon your own cultural background when discussing the subject.
