In week 2, we learned about how to identify and find support to help you as the innovator, especially if you're new to innovation, by reflecting on your own knowledge before moving on to consider sources of local, regional, and national support for innovation and service improvement. We also considered developing your innovation proposal and how to communicate your proposed innovation to key stakeholders. In week 3, you will learn about how to develop and project plan and manage time and resources using simple techniques and tools.
Skip to 0 minutes and 54 secondsWhen considering making changes to services, it is important to be able to plan the resources and time required, so everyone is clear on the steps required, by whom, and by when. Here we will explore some simple techniques to help with this. You will also have the opportunity to explore some innovation case studies from practicing healthcare scientists. During week 3, we will also learn about techniques to measure the current service baseline, and also, how to measure the impact of any changes. By the end of week 3, you will know how to project manage your proposal, measure and determine the baseline for your current service, plan and implement your innovation or change, and how to evaluate the impact of any changes made.

Once your proposal has gained the necessary approval and support you will need to effectively plan and manage your innovation project.
This week you will learn how to measure any potential impact that your project may have, explore the tools that can be used to create an effective project plan, implement a pilot study and evaluate its success.
