ICL and Human Rights: Achievements and Limitations of a Legal Path towards Social Change

Thank you for having attended this course on human rights and international criminal law. We hope it has been a rewarding learning experience.

In this last video, we are going to review the key concepts we have addressed during this four-week journey. The MOOC has tried to highlight the link between the long-run work on human rights carried out by all kinds of institutions, organisations, and individuals and the specialized activity of international criminal law bodies.

We especially focused on the protection of the most vulnerable groups and we also explored the inter-institutional dialogue between international courts and institutions pursuing respectively the promotion and protection of human rights and the criminal prosecution of international crimes.

The cross-fertilisation of these two dimensions is the only way to address the root causes of inequalities and discrimination, thus preventing violence and conflicts.
