How to use the comments section

One of the most important parts of this course are the comment sections, where you will have opportunities to engage with your fellow learners throughout your learning journey.

Our team of moderators will support discussions in the comments, but the most important person is you: if you have a question, ask it; if you have an answer, share it; if you have experience that everyone can benefit from, tell us about it.

It is important to us that you share your knowledge – this is an ideal space for you to collaborate with one another and begin to grow your global network.

Code of conduct for the comments section

When participating in the forums, there are some things that we would like you to bear in mind to make sure that these remain safe, healthy discussion spaces:

• What matters is what is heard, not what is said: if someone seems to misinterpret something you have written, put yourself in their position. Think about how you have shared your perspective and think about how you could have communicated this differently. This is a great opportunity to practice communication skills with a global group.
• My world is not the same as your world: as a global course there are participants taking part from every context imaginable. Do not assume that everyone understands the same references or shares your sense of humour. There are people on this course who will think about things differently from you – this is not an opportunity to ‘be right’ or ‘win’. Every engagement you have with someone else should carry an expectation that you will learn and gain something new.
• I do not have a right to offend: any behaviour which is discriminatory, offensive or disrespectful will not be allowed. We are here to question, discuss and understand as a respectful community – debate is good, intolerance is not.
