Skip to 0 minutes and 0 seconds <v ->So Ari, how did you feel about those questions</v> from part three of the speaking test? <v ->Well, I definitely felt more confident</v> the second time I answered the questions, after the tips you gave me. <v ->I’m really glad to hear that.</v> Just make sure you use that advice every time you practice. <v ->Sure.</v> So do you have any other advice for part three of the exam? <v ->I do.</v> Here are some tips for part three of the IELTS speaking test.

Skip to 0 minutes and 31 seconds Tip one: develop your ideas. To provide well-developed answers, you should give an opinion, followed by a reason, and then provide an example. You may also want to consider aspects about the past or the future regarding the question asked.

Skip to 0 minutes and 48 seconds Tip two: do most of the speaking. While it is a conversation, it is important that you don’t try to ask the examiner questions. Tip three, ask for clarification. If you do not understand a question, it’s okay to ask the examiner to repeat it again. Unlike part one, in this part of the test, the examiner may paraphrase the question.

Skip to 1 minute and 13 seconds Tip four: avoid saying “I don’t know.” Instead, use expressions such as, “I’m not quite sure about that, but I think” or “I haven’t thought about that before, but I’d probably say.”
