Freedom of expression and access to information

In this presentation, the Programme Specialist for the Communication and Information Sector, Guilherme Canela, provides us with an outlook on the connection between the right to freedom of expression – particularly the right to access to public information – and the guaranteeing of other rights – including social, economic and cultural rights.

Access to information is included in the Sustainable Development Goals as a crosscutting theme. Here, Mr. Canela sets out UNESCO‘s vocation to continue supporting the construction of tools helping to guarantee this right as one crosscutting all the others.
