Beyond fair testing

In the last step we introduced you to six types of scientific enquiry which are exemplified in the SEP: Beyond Fair Testing training materials, based on the work of based the Gatsby Science Enhancement Programme - King’s College London Enhancing Enquiries in Schools project.

The aims of the project were to:

  • Increase the variety of scientific enquiries for students aged 11-16.
  • Provide strategies for the explicit teaching of the procedural understanding used in these enquiries.

The booklet provides some useful examples of investigations and explains each type of enquiry in more detail.

If there was anything from the enquiry types quiz that you weren’t sure about or disagreed with, make a note on your reflection grid for the week, or post a question below.
