When it comes to data, the current conversation trends gravitate around these topics:

1 – Hype: It can be overwhelming at times to navigate through the noise to find out what is important and what is just a rebranding of last year’s ideas. Many people are overestimating what data and AI can do today and some others just have a general fear of robots taking over the world.

2 – Value: In the process of either being enthralled or intimidated by the hype, it is easy to lose sight of the fundamental questions:

4 – Execution: It is great having a vision but without the ability to execute, it is just an aspiration. If your investments in data are not integral to the execution of your organisation’s strategy, it is unlikely that you will be successful, and you will stumble from one false start to the next.
