The relationship between engagement, motivation and job satisfaction
As you have probably guessed, job satisfaction, motivation and engagement are all closely linked, especially with regard to employee performance outcomes.
It is important to acknowledge, however, that while engagement and satisfaction both focus on high work pleasure, engagement is longer lasting, focusing also on high activation (ie involvement and determination).
Moreover, engagement goes beyond motivation, capturing individual cognition and affect. It is therefore suggested to be a stronger predictor of job performance than satisfaction and motivation.
