Forensic science at University of Strathclyde

At the University of Strathclyde, we have been teaching forensic science since 1967, delivering one of the oldest and most respected Masters degree programs in the discipline worldwide.

University staff have been involved in the professional development in forensic science in the UK and elsewhere for many decades and forensic science epitomises the vision of the University’s founder, John Anderson, to be a ‘place of useful learning’.

However, our history and activities in forensic science go back further than 1967! Henry Faulds, who was credited with the linkage of fingerprints to identity in 1880, was also a graduate of the University and staff of the University have been involved in the investigation of infamous criminal cases since the Victorian age to the present day. It is this legacy, experience and useful learning that we bring to you through our forensic science course.

The staff who you will meet during the course are all Internationally known and all have been involved in high profile casework, policy development and education.
