Skip to 0 minutes and 9 seconds Momentary power outages at a number of businesses, universities, and GP practices in the Glasgow area have been affecting numerous workers, students, and patients today. Faults include reports of streetlight outages, phones lines being cut off, and disrupted broadband connections. Although local media is reporting a number of possible explanations, including bad weather, excavation work, and frequent overloading of power stations, authorities here in Scotland are still no closer to understanding why these power outages have been occurring.

The Blackout: day one - 'what's going on?'

Here we are introduced to the fictional scenario running throughout ‘Introduction to Journalism’ - otherwise known as ‘The Blackout’.
