Grammar 1 (-어/아 보세요)
Let’s study in detail about the expressions we learned today.
The expression ‘-어/아 보세요’ is used when suggesting someone to try doing something. Depending on the verb attached to it, the form changes slightly.
Take a look at the following examples.
-어/아 보세요
(Attached to a verb) it becomes a suggestion to do something
| ㅗ/ㅏ[o/a] | 타다 [To ride] | 타 보세요 [Try riding (it)] |
| 오다 [To come] | 와 보세요 [Try coming (here)] |
| 그외 (The rest) | 입다 [To wear] | 입어 보세요 [Try wearing (it)] |
| 신다 [To wear(shoes)] | 신어 보세요 [Try wearing (them)] | |
| 쓰다 [To wear (hat)] | 써 보세요[Try wearing (it)] |
For the verb ending with ‘ㅡ’[eu] , like ‘쓰다’ showed in the chart above, the vowel ‘ㅡ’[eu] should be removed and changed with the vowel ‘ㅓ’[eo].

While, all the verbs composed of ‘하다’and a noun, they become ‘~ 해 보세요’.
