을/를

(Attached to a noun) It is used to indicate that the preceding noun is the object of a sentence. If it is attached to a predicate such as “like,” it describes the object which the subject likes.

When the speaker says ‘수영을 좋아해요,’ the listener is able to comprehend that swimming is what is being liked by the subject.

‘을’ is attached after a noun with final consonant, and ‘를’ is attached to a noun without final consonant.
