Over the course of two weeks, you’ve learned how extended reality is making waves across a range of industries, making way for innovation in healthcare, training, journalism and culture. We hope you’ve gained a better understanding of what these technologies can achieve and the principles behind them.
The course provided an introduction to some of the history of virtual, augmented and mixed reality. You explored the differences between them and saw some examples of how these technologies are being applied in different industries.
You ended the course exploring the different skills involved in creating XR in all its forms and examining the ethical considerations related to creating these kinds of experiences. This gave you the chance to think about audience perspectives and grasp why XR can be so powerful. We hope we’ve given you some food for thought about what opportunities there are for diving further into this fast-growing field.

Here you can take your first steps towards constructing a virtual world, using game design principles, that are often utilised in this field.
