Skip to 0 minutes and 11 secondsHello and welcome to week two of Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobites. We covered a lot of ground in week one. And we hope that you enjoyed it looking back to the Stuart dynasty. We really appreciated all your comments and your interactions. So do keep them up. This week in week two we find ourselves in Europe, first of all, outside of Paris, and then later in Rome. And here I am standing on the floor plan of the palace where James the VII and II lived with his family in exile. This is Saint-Germain-en-Laye. And this was the palace where the Jacobites sought refuge when they were forced into exile for William and Mary to take the throne.

Skip to 0 minutes and 55 secondsAs in last week, we're going to be looking at a series of wonderful objects, including a horn and a snuff mull. We really hope you enjoy it.

Welcome to Week 2

Professor Viccy Coltman welcomes you to Week 2 of this course. In this week we will look at the Stuarts in exile, first in France and later in Italy, where Prince Charles Edward Stuart was born in Rome in 1720.
