墨流（すみながし）
染色加工の最後の例として、墨流をご紹介します。
水面に垂らして攪拌した墨を紙に写し取って模様を付ける技法を「墨流」と呼びます。平安時代から見られ、近世にいたるまで製作され続けました。近世期の18世紀頃になると墨の他に青や赤を混じえた例が見られるようになりますし、金泥で行った例もあります。西洋の装飾紙にもマーブル紙というのがありますが、基本的に同様な技法で作られたものです。
