At the end of Week 1 you should be able to:

  1. Play the 3 seventh chords C7, F7, G7 in root position in the left hand and use them to play a skeletal blues four to the bar In C
  2. Play the American Blues Scale in C, F and G in the right hand
  3. Understand what is meant by jazz quavers and how they appear in written form in jazz
  4. Play the tune “Things Ain’t What They Used To Be” and begin improvising on the American Blues Scale using principally jazz quavers
