Create your own prototype

In order for companies to remain competitive, they have to create innovative products, processes or services to satisfy new or existing customers. Prototypes allow you to test your ideas early on to get invaluable feedback informing you about what the customers really want.

On this course you will learn about different types of prototype you can use to demonstrate a new product, process or service and you will get the opportunity to create your own. You will use the feedback you receive to refine your idea, explore what makes a good pitch and then have a go at pitching your idea.

Skip to 0 minutes and 6 seconds Have you ever faced barriers when you wanted to implement an idea? What is experimentation, and how can it help you to successfully implement your ideas? This MOOC, managing innovation, learning to prototype for business helps innovation enthusiasts to transfer their idea from experimentation to implementation. For that, we will offer an approach that will help you to find, to select, and to apply the methodologies that are most appropriate during an innovation process. The MOOC will give you an overview of the entire innovation process and how you turn an insight into value. We will show you, for example, some ideation tools and help you to develop your own idea. Then we will deep dive into prototyping.

Skip to 0 minutes and 52 seconds We show you the importance of experimentation and how you can use prototypes to make your idea tangible. Prototypes allow you to learn in a quick and cheap way. They help you to determine the value behind your idea, which could also mean to realise that there’s no value. Failing is part of the game and crucial in innovation. You will have the opportunity to prepare a prototype by your own, share it with other students, and learn how to pitch– present the key messages of your product in a nutshell, connecting with your audience. Furthermore, you’ll get to know the naviProM model. This model is a pragmatical tool for approaching the flexible management of innovation and project in an uncertain environment.

Skip to 1 minute and 33 seconds The name comes from the idea of navigating project management and introduces a two-by-two model to drive innovation projects successfully from experimentation to implementation. So now it’s up to you. Be one of the doers. Join this open online course and make your innovation project a success. Don’t miss this opportunity.
