Summary of Week 2

We have now reached the end of Week 2. By now you should have a clearer understanding of the quality and content of care and impacts of poor quality care.

Next week we will look at the future of maternal health care. We will explore what lies ahead and will focus on evolving priorities in global maternal health, specifically as they relate to the Sustainable Development Goal era.

We will talk about drivers and influences of maternal health outside of the health system, some of which include, external shocks including urbanisation and economic growth; innovations such as m-Health and the data revolution; and financing to ensure sustainable investment in maternal health in the future. We will discuss a 5 point Action Plan to strengthen global maternal health.

Next week’s activities are available to view now, but if you decide to review them early you may want to return to the comments and discussions while the week is live to see the perspectives of other learners and to offer your own.

At the end of each week we collate the key thoughts, themes, and any questions from your conversations in a summary document added to the Downloads section at the bottom of this page.
