If we can see a pattern, we can look at the rule. If we know the rule, we can work out the next number, the 10th number, the 100th number in that sequence.

Sequences can appear quite abstract and theoretical, but they can also appear in nature, often in unusual places. By learning about sequences, we can understand more about the world around us. We can use them to generalise, to make predictions, and to model the real world.
