Last week, we looked at some of the approaches we apply from analytical chemistry to analyse metabolome samples. In this week, we will look at the methods that we applied to process the data from raw instrument files to produce a data table. We will then explore the statistical methods that are used to mine this data and identify the metabolites that are significantly changing between the classes biological samples. The final topic that we will look at in the course is metabolite identification. This is a challenging topic for the metabolomics community.
