These are the questions at the heart of psychology. But the well-regarded scientific discipline of psychology that we know today has only been around for 100 years. Hi. I'm Matthew Mundy. And I'm the Director of Education for the School of Psychological Sciences at Monash University in Australia. And I'm the lead educator for the Introduction to Psychology program. In this program, you'll be introduced to the fascinating discipline of psychology. You'll learn about its origins and the scientific pioneers who helped to shape it.
Skip to 0 minutes and 50 secondsYou'll explore key psychological theories on learning, development, perception, and personality. What does it mean for psychology to be considered a science? Scientific inquiry is at the heart of psychology. Being able to effectively carry out research and then communicate your findings are essential skills for psychologists to have. In this program, you'll have the opportunity to hone your skills alongside other learners to apply psychological principles and theories to real-world situations. This program is designed for everyone, regardless of your experience or background. No prior study of psychology is required or expected.
