Setting up your network

Note: Your networking should be already set up for the exercise in the VMs. You can verify this by looking at the IP addresses of the network interfaces in the terminal of CUEHalilight with the command ifconfig. The goal here is to have the VM connected to the 192.168.5.0 subnet. Later, once you have the other two machines powered on as well for the tasks, you can verify connectivity by pinging the other two machines.

If this is not the case, the following two commands should set you up for the lab:

ifconfig eth1 192.168.5.10 netmask 255.255.255.0

ip route add 192.168.5.0/24 dev eth1
