This course has given you an introductory knowledge to the Norwegian Stave Churches. However, the important work and journey still continues in preserving them. Several organisations are involved in preserving and protecting the unique wooden constructions. If you would like to learn more about who they are and gain more in-depth knowledge about the Stave Churches, we have listed a number of resources in the links below.

If you are interested in gaining more knowledge about wood conservation, a course in which The Directorate of Cultural Heritage in Norway co-organizes with NTNU and ICCROM is avalable for professionals within the field. The International Course on Wood Conservation Technology is held every other year. Read more about the course on the website of the Directorate for Cultural Heritage (Riksantikvaren).
