Skip to 0 minutes and 15 seconds Kitsch Please is an online marketplace and it’s a curated online marketplace for buying and selling vintage homewares and furniture. I got the idea from my own experience. I was collecting vintage homewares and furniture and I found, both buying and selling that product online, there wasn’t really a platform dedicated to that. I thought, I can turn this into a business.

Skip to 0 minutes and 43 seconds I decided to start my own business as I had tried my hand at a few different things. For example public relations, journalism, teaching for a little while. And none of those were really quite satisfying enough, alone. And I decided to take the best bits of all of them and put them together in my own way, in my own formula and started to work for myself. There’s no better time than now and I gave it a shot and here I am.

Skip to 1 minute and 21 seconds My name’s Belinda Noble, my business is Noble by Noble and I create and design and produce premium end men’s underwear for the discerning male. It’s all very good quality and packaged beautifully and it’s sold online and in store.

Skip to 1 minute and 37 seconds My passion with this men’s underwear is really about getting men educated about quality. And I’m basically targeting people in the market that want a little bit more choice from the mainstream ones that are out there. And there seems to be a big hole in between that 20 to 40 range of boutique labels. I didn’t want to build my underwear business on a subscription basis based on convenience, and convenience only. There are some bigger brands out there that already do that, and I think traditionally, that’s what internet is used for. But I would like to build a brand that people love and then that’s also conveniently brought like a personal concierge. So you live like a king.

Skip to 2 minutes and 19 seconds I got the idea for the business with a combination of things, which I suspect is always the case. One thing is I moved back from Europe, and I had taken a year off from flying, I was a pilot. So, while I was flying I always had one foot in fashion, and then, in Europe I wanted to go into luxury, and then I came back here that’s where I found the hole in the market. It allowed me to be a mother. It allowed me to work the hours that I wanted to work.

Skip to 2 minutes and 46 seconds And I hope once I’ve kind of got the kids to that stage where I can go back to work, that my place of work that will provide me income will be my business.

Prior to Kitsch Please, Melbourne based founder and curator, Samuel Clarke, worked in public relations, branding strategy, events, fashion and interior styling in both Australia and Canada.

Melbourne based Samuel enjoyed interior styling most of all, but was frustrated by the time and energy spent trawling through the online classifieds and travelling from store to store, looking for great vintage pieces for the home. Samuel couldn’t help but wonder; surely, there has to be a better way!

Kitsch Please was started by Samuel as “a dedicated curated online marketplace for buying and selling unique vintage homewares and furniture, to simplify sustainable purchase decisions, and to empower people to find their own interior style - in any space and on any budget.”

Belinda Noble
Founder of Noble by Noble

Noble by Noble was created by Belinda Noble – a former Qantas pilot who has spent years jetsetting around the globe with other high flyers.

While sharing the cockpit with her male counterparts, Belinda developed a great appreciation for the world of high end boy’s toys and gentlemen’s accessories. An interest that ultimately led her to pursue an international career in fashion.

Belinda went on to work for luxury fashion brands in London and Paris before coming home to Australia to embark on her next adventure.

Noble by Noble draws on Belinda’s experience living in a fast-paced man’s world, as well as her fashion expertise and passion for luxury.

In naming the brand, Belinda has taken full advantage of her last name, using it to represent her clientele – the modern nobleman.
