Check What You Have Learnt This Week

Throughout this week you were encouraged to reflect on what you have learnt and how you can apply it to your own business idea or concept.

You have also been introduced to Jordan via the case-studies, who has engage in your help and advice on starting up her destination wedding travel business concept.

During the week, we have defined what constitutes an online business and considered what it takes to be a successful online business operator. We also asked you to reflect on the reasons why you are interested in starting an online business and investigated ways in which you can find inspiration to grow your business idea.

With your help this week, Jordan has given a lot of thought to how to start her online destination wedding travel business. So far she has:

  • Selected what she believes is the most appropriate type of online business format, that being ‘pure online business’ for her online travel agency and sought input/feedback from friends and family on her decision
  • Considered her own skills and traits in terms of whether she has what it takes to become a successful online business operator and has listened to successful entrepreneurs about their own journey
  • Sought inspiration and found a gap in the wedding and travel market that encompasses both needs in the one service Boosted her business idea by doing research on possible competitors and services to refine her business direction.

Jordan decides that what she needs to do next is to work out how to convert her ideas into action and how to start a business plan. Follow Jordan's journey in starting her own online business in Week 2.
