The week ahead

Welcome back to Week 2.

Dr Mat Hughes starts the week by inviting us to think about what affects the way organisations find and apply knowledge that have come from outside sources. As you’ll start to appreciate, there can be various challenges to making sure the right information is found and, when it is, how that information is processed and acted upon.

We’ll also spend some time getting the perspective of a university as a partner in open innovation projects. Dr Tim Hammond will talk us through key benefits, insights and recommendations for how to get this right based on his own experience across multiple projects.

To find the most novel and creative solutions to business problems, we also take a look at how we might overcome our own biases.

Finally, toward the end of this week, we’ll focus on networks which you should be starting to understand are fundamental to open innovation. In particular, we’ll look at how they can be identified and expanded.
