On this four-week course from Sentinel|9, you’ll learn the concepts behind leading individuals and groups effectively to help them perform at their best. This includes the different leadership approaches, how to manage change, and what it means to be a leader on a day-to-day basis.

Discover how to motivate individuals and manage employee performance

Motivation is anything that provides direction, intensity, and persistence to behaviour.

From Maslow’s hierarchy of needs to career anchors, you’ll examine some theories of motivation to ascertain the underlying factors that help motivate people.

You’ll also delve into the importance of performance management and how to approach managing poor performance as well as reinforcing those that perform well.

Explore the different approaches to leadership and management

The leader role pervades all managerial behaviour and influences how leaders perform other roles. These roles include hiring and training, giving instructions and coaching, and evaluating performance.

This course will guide you through the various leadership theories to help you understand how best to develop your leadership skills. You’ll then learn about the different leadership styles, each of which you can use to get the best responses from others.

Learn to manage change within an organisation

You’ll finish this course by exploring the different strategic models for managing change. You’ll also look at the best approaches to managing crises, from developing the capability to react flexibly to practising the teamwork required during a crisis.
