In Week 1 we made reference to the United Kingdom’s BSAC Adult and Paediatric OPAT good practice recommendations.

You can review them again here or at the links at the bottom of this page.

There are a number of other published national OPAT guidelines including from the United States and Brazil which provide guidance around OPAT service delivery.

We would recommend that you spend 30 minutes reviewing those OPAT recommendations/guidelines that are most relevant to your practice.

In the downloads section you will find an assessment tool for you to assess your OPAT service against the updated Good Practice Recommendations.

Having read the these recommendations, what questions has this raised in your mind around your current or planned service?

Is there anything you wish to explore more around OPAT delivery and governance?
