Physical education teachers' top tips for using a model

The purpose of this article is to provide a guide or some top tips to support Practitioner’s learning to teach physical education through Cooperative Learning.

Based on the work of eight teachers using Cooperative Learning to teach physical education in two secondary schools in the UK, the article addresses issues such as: preparing students to learn in new ways, adopting a facilitating role, being prepared for the ‘messiness’ of group learning, reflecting on experience, and understanding how Cooperative learning might ‘fit’ into particular schools.
