Week 3 - reflection on your learning

This week you have applied abstract inspiration to colour selection, and you have created original colour schemes which reflect different moods. You have also expanded your understanding of colour theory by observing and analysing successful combinations.

Please share your reflections in the discussion space. Consider the following questions in your comments:

  • What challenges come with using abstract inspiration?

  • What observations of working with colour – including use of accent or manipulation of the value of colours – can you contribute to help build our colour understanding?

  • Did you find the colour extraction tools helpful and enlightening? How can digital tools provide shortcuts when working with colour?

  • Do you have a project in mind that would benefit from the use of abstract inspiration, and a palette produced by a colour extraction system? Tell us about it.
