Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic is the world’s leading computer-based test of English for study abroad and immigration and is widely accepted by universities, colleges and governments around the world. All test takers should prepare for PTE Academic, even if English is your first language.

PTE Academic is a three hour computer-based English test assessing real-life, academic English, with three main parts to the test: speaking and writing (together), listening and readin. The Test has been developed to allow you to demonstrate your language skills scored by unbiased Artificial Intelligence.

This course will assist you to develop your confidence and success by understanding the structure and learning outcomes of the Pearson Test of English (PTE) and to develop exam skills.

This course is offered by YouSTUDY International College. Our global virtual campus is operated from Cairns, Queensland, Australia which is also the base for our face-to-face physical campus.

Syllabus

  • Week 1

    Introduction to PTE and Preparing for Part 1 of the Test: Speaking & Writing

    • Getting Started

      In this first session we will introduce to the Test Format and important tips to prepare you for the PTE Academic Test

    • Speaking and Writing

      The Speaking and Writing Part of the PTE Academic Test is divided into eight specific sections, we will look at the first four in this last Session of the First Week.

  • Week 2

    Preparing for Part 1: Speaking and Writing (Cont.) and Part 2: Reading

    • Welcome to Week 2 and Speaking and Writing (Cont) - Last 4 tasks

      This week we are introducing the last topics of Part 1 of the PTE Academic Test: Speaking and writing, Sections: 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 and 1.8.

    • Reading

      Part 2 of the Test takes (32 – 40 minutes) and covers: Reading & writing: Fill in the blanks Multiple choice, choose multiple answers Re-order paragraphs Reading: Fill in the blanks Multiple choice, choose single answer

  • Week 3

    Preparing for Part 3: Listening

    • Part 3 Listening Sections 1 - 4
