Welcome to Preparing for University

Welcome to Preparing for University. Over the next six weeks you will explore different skills which will help you begin to understand what academic life at university might be like. This course will help you appreciate and understand some of the key skills required for success at university.

This course is just the first step, so will be looking at specific skills that will lay the foundations of a full preparation for university.

One of the problems students encounter when they go to university is not understanding what lecturers are expecting of them. You might want to work hard, but not know what it is that lecturers value. In the following step there is a short video where lecturers from a range of disciplines talk about what they value in an undergraduate student.

When you are ready to move on, click the pink Mark as Complete button at the bottom of this step. This will update your progress page and will help you to keep track of which steps you’ve done.
