Introduction to Week 2

Find out what we will be learning on Week 2 of the course.

In Week 2 we will show you ways to teach core astronomy topics for Key Stage 2 (ages 7 – 11 years) pupils. We will explain concepts such as night and day, the lunar phase cycle, shadows on the Moon and invisible forces and materials such as magnetism and air.

We will chat about some of the most challenging questions we’ve been asked by primary students about space, such as what’s inside a black hole?, where did the Universe come from? and what will happen to Earth in the future?. We’ll provide accurate and accessible information relating to the deepest philosophical questions through our quirky animated videos.

We’ll introduce you to the scientific process in astronomy, something we’ll visit in more detail in Week 3. As we go through let us know how you get on in your own lessons:
