Practicing tracking your project

You can now have the chance to practise tracking the progress of a project.

Imagine that your project is halfway through its planned total duration. Consider two situations: a worst-case scenario (e.g. late and over budget) and a better state (e.g. running to time and within budget).

Use the Gantt chart you created in Drafting a Gantt chart to track the progress of the project and the Budget spreadsheet you created in Budget for your project to track the use of resources.

Now, if this was a real situation, you would have had all the necessary data to track the progress and the use of resources. Would have you been able to manage the worst-case scenario?

In the next step, you will see how project managers operate in real-life contexts to control their projects.
