We hope that you have now managed to setup the software environment either via the virtual machine, or by installing the required software packages on your own system. For the rest of this week, we discuss on general level what are the performance challenges in Python programs. We discuss then general principles for optimization and performance analysis, and present some specific tools for analysing the performance of Python programs. At the end of the week you should try to analyze the performance of a simple Python program yourself.
