What does it mean to be an effective online learner? How can reflection help improve your learning?

In this course, you’ll develop strategies and approaches you can use in your online learning. From thinking about the opportunities you have to learn online, to developing a reflective approach to your studies, this course will help you make the most of your online learning experience.

What will you study?

The first week concentrates on exploring what it means to be a modern learner and explains the types of online learning you can take part in. You’ll be asked to think about what works for you as a learner and how you can take effective notes as part of your learning. You’ll practice taking notes and think about how to use them effectively.

In the second week, you’ll think more about how to use your notes and how to build on your learning from videos, lectures and online articles. You’ll explore a model for reflection and see how this can help you enhance and improve your process of learning.

Your tutor on this course is Neil Morris. He is Chair of Educational Technology, Innovation and Change in the School of Education, and Dean of Digital Education at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom (UK).
