Skip to 0 minutes and 13 secondsHello, and welcome back to the course. We hope you're ready for another big week of thought provoking conversation as we continue to explore why enabling participation for everyone is so important. If you haven't yet posted in the discussion or comment sections, it's not too late. We encourage you to make the most of this course, and we'd love to hear from you. Yes, it's been terrific seeing thoughts and experiences being exchanged with people from all over the world. Don't miss out on your chance to be a part of it. This week we explore what makes for a meaningful life. We'll look at the tendency to define ourselves in relation to work, and what this means for people with a disability.

Skip to 0 minutes and 50 secondsYou may not know it, but we all have the right to work. We look at how this becomes possible with flexible working environments, assistive technology, and sometimes a much needed shift in perspective. We also look beyond work and explore the importance of other forms of participation. We introduce the concept of life domains, and put you in the driver's seat to make life changing decisions in a number of case study scenarios. When participation is possible for everyone in our society, we all win. Let's get started on week two, and find out how.

Welcome back to the course

Welcome back to the final week of the course. We’re so pleased you could join us as we continue to rethink disability in society today.

This week we explore the connection between work and health. You may be surprised to know there’s compelling research supporting the benefits of work that extend beyond the obvious financial rewards.

Meaningful employment has historically been a challenge for people with disability, however as attitudes change and technology improves, we see new and exciting possibilities opening up.

This week we investigate a number of case studies and ask you to make decisions and recommendations to support two clients (Lamnu and Raphael) to return to work.

While employment can be a source of satisfaction and meaning, we also look beyond work to explore other aspects of our lives that contribute to our well-being.

We hope you enjoy Week 2 and look forward to continuing to engage with you in the discussion spaces as we conclude the course.
