Next week

Next week you’ll encounter the centre of the growing city’s political and commercial life: the Forum. You’ll find out how this space developed from a marsh to a impressive monumental precinct which you’ll be able to explore in another walkaround exercise. This will include some notable landmarks like obelisks or Trajan’s Column - fantastic to look at but without a practical function. Why were such monuments built?
