Where in the world?

Each week we want to tell you a bit more about some of the ingredients and where in the world they came from. As the world opened up, so did the ingredients being used, and where they were being sourced. Some of them were home-grown, but many were transported from far-flung corners of the world.

Using the Elizabethan recipes in Step 2.7 we have animated five ingredients so you can get a sense of the journeys these ingredients went on before arriving on the table.

We have also included some further ingredient facts in this PDF for you to digest!

In the next Step, we’ll be challenging some common misconceptions about the Tower of London. Don’t worry if you don’t know the answers (we’re not expecting you to be an expert!). This is just a quick quiz to get you thinking and find out just how much you already know.
