What comes next: week 2 and beyond

In the next week we will continue our discussion of science communication, focusing on some aspects linked to the crafting of scientific communication.
In particular, we will introduce a tool - the message box - that was developed as an aid to guide the creation of scientific messages.

We will then ask you to complete your own message box and then to act as the audience, by reviewing a message box created by one of your fellow learners.

Going through both these stages - message creator and audience - will help you understand the aspects linked to science communication: sometimes what we cannot get as speakers, we can get as listeners, and vice-versa.
We will then continue our journey into science communication by talking about the qualities of a good scientific talk - taking into account the verbal, non-verbal and visual aspects of communication.

In the third and last week of the course we will then move to a different practical aspect: working with journalists and the media, then conclude with more institutional aspects of science communication, such as the role of science communication units and the importance of responsible research and innovation.
