Skip to 0 minutes and 6 secondsWelcome to our Massive Open Online Course on the Welsh and Scottish elections 2016. I hope that you'll take the opportunity to introduce yourselves and tell us a little bit about why you've chosen to do this course. I also hope that you'll take the time to suggest some topics for our first online seminar. This week, we're concentrating on the rules of the game, how devolution works in Scotland and Wales, and in particular, how the electoral system works. That will set us up in the next few weeks to discuss policies and political parties.
Welcome
Welcome to our online course about the Scottish and Welsh elections 2016!
We will explore the important issues, policies and people involved in the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Assembly. We will also look more generally at how devolution works in the UK.
In particular, we’d like to extend a warm invitation to our first live online seminar on Wednesday 20 April at 1.10pm (UK time). You can suggest questions for the seminar in the discussion and watch the seminar live on YouTube. You can tweet comments and further questions during the seminar with the hashtag #SWvote2016. There will also be a recording of the seminar available to view afterwards.
We would appreciate it if you would take a moment to take our pre-course survey. If this is your first FutureLearn course, you might like to visit the FAQs before moving on to the next step.
