We hope that you’ve enjoyed our introduction to the art and craft of screenwriting.

Our goal was to present a clear point-of-view on basic concepts, but we also wanted to inspire you to question your own ideas about writing and film story. If nothing else, the discussions with our panel demonstrated the breadth of opinion on even basic issues of character, structure and scene work. You should come away from this with the certainty that there is no single “right” way to approach a screenplay. We encourage you to find what works best for your own writing.

Where do we go from here? Keep writing. And then get your work read. Join a local writing group or take this opportunity to form your own. Use the comment areas on this course to find other writers who share your interests, your levels of skill and your experience.

It’s been a pleasure to create this course for you, and we hope to see you in future courses.
