This week we introduced the concept of the sharing economy, and highlighted its backstory. We explored how consumers interact in it, through room-sharing, ride-sharing and service-sharing. We also considered the different ways in which value is created and exchanged in the sharing economy such as through business-to-consumer exchange, peer-to-peer exchange and collaborative consumer networks.

This week you reflected on your own exposure to the sharing economy, and through our activities you enhanced your knowledge of the brands within it. You should now be able to tell anyone what this global marketing trend is, and be able to get involved when next you think of getting a ride or renting out that spare bedroom in your apartment.
