Next steps and a goodbye gift from the team!
So that concludes the Short Film in Language Teaching course. We hope that you’ve enjoyed it and have benefited from contributing to discussions and sharing best practice with your peers.
And visit our partner organisation Into Film’s website for further information on their programme, and for details on how you can set up a free Into Film Club in your UK based organisation. The website also offers access to a vast range of free cross-curricular teaching resources and details about the Into Film Festival.
As promised we have a gift for you - two in fact! We have collated a list of suggested short films, links and resources from course participants and our course team, from both this course, and previous runs of the same course. Both are available to download in the downloads section. They will help you to begin your journey using short films in your language classroom!
Hopefully you will have created a collection of resources to use in class throughout the course. If you have any final resources to share with others on the course please post them to padlet.
There are two further resources in the downloads section here that may be useful for your journey into using short film in language teaching. These were devised by Into Film and are called ‘Love Languages - French’ and ‘Love Languages - Spanish’. The activities in the resources provide support for pupils to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills on a range of topics including sport, colours, the body, emotions and storytelling. Please note that the PDFs need to be used in conjunction with the PowerPoint presentations which can be downloaded here for Love Languages - Spanish and here for Love Languages - French. You may also find this resource and similar French short film resources from the same website useful.
