We hope you have enjoyed learning about the men and women of the Sidney family, about their writing and family home and church in Penshurst.

You can find out more about the staging of drama by Shakespeare’s female contemporaries on the ‘Shakespeare’s Sisters’ website.

For availability of recorded performances that you saw on the course, please see the attachment ‘Recorded Performances’.

In addition, a broadcast quality film recording of the 2018 live performance Wroth’s “Love’s Victory” at Penshurst Place, has been funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. I have not been able to show this as part of the course but if you would like to see it, please make a request to the Directors of Research at the University d.williams2@lancaster.ac.uk or y.fox@lancaster.ac.uk. I have attached a link to the introduction by Philip Sidney and me.

For schools, workshops and materials on the Sidneys’ writing and its connection to Shakespeare and other writers on the curriculum will be available via the Quill Power project. This includes options for visits to schools.

To find out more about the Sidneys writing you can join The International Sidney Society. You can also visit the Penshurst Place, to discover more about the Sidney family home and activities. Please check the website for opening times.

For more information on Penshurst Church of St John the Baptist where much of the material for the Week 4 was filmed please see the church website.

Thank you again for your participation in the course. Best wishes Alison
