Skip to 0 minutes and 1 second We’re coming to the end of Week One, where we’ve looked at the various types of higher education available in the UK. We’ve looked at the wide variety of subjects available, the range of progression routes into higher education and debunked some of the myths we commonly hear. You’ll hopefully also have a good grounding in using the UCAS website and the search tool. Next week, you will hear from careers advisers and university admissions teams who will be sharing their expertise and advice with you, as well as some students to tell you a bit about their experiences. We will also be looking at the changing careers landscape and world of work to help frame your research, explorations and decision making.

Skip to 0 minutes and 37 seconds We hope you’ve taken the opportunity to get social with everyone else on the course and that you’ve found exploring the subjects with others really helpful. We look forward to welcoming you to Week 2!

Review of this week

Mark Newman from UCAS reflects on this week’s activities, which we hope have helped you find out more about all of the post-18 options and extended your knowledge of higher education in the UK.

Mark also sets out the topics and focus for week 2, when you will hear from experienced careers advisers and university admissions teams. You will also learn more about the changing careers landscape, how to get to grips with your decision-making, and applying to university or college.

We hope you’ve enjoyed this first week of the course and really look forward to you joining us on next week’s activities and in the discussions.
