Meet the team

Hello!

I’m Pep Salas, your lead educator for the upcoming weeks. Before introducing myself, let me thank you for signing up and wish you a great learning experience throughout this course.

About me

I’m an engineer and Ph.D. in energy transition. I’ve developed my entire career in the sustainable energy sector, from applied R&D (2 PCT granted) to industry (micro-grids, renewables and ICT for energy efficiency). I’ve had some experience as an entrepreneur and I’m currently working as an independent consultant. After some years focused on technology, I moved to the non-technical aspects of the energy transition, such as consumer behavior, social perception of technology and energy policy. I’m also a lecturer at the University of Barcelona (www.ub.edu) and at the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (www.iaac.net). Beyond that, I consider myself an energy divulgator through my website www.smartgrid.cat, in which I try to promote a debate around the energy transition in Catalonia.
