Business Model Canvas

The Canvas business model has become very popular over the last decade. It is a template that helps entrepreneurs to develop and think about their business idea. The visual capacity of the model is very high.

The template is divided in nine different sections:

  1. Value proposition.

This section describes the value generated by the business.

  1. Key partners
  2. Key activities
  3. Key resources

Sections 2, 3 and 4 gather the key elements to be able to provide value to the business.

  1. Customer relationships
  2. Channels
  3. Customer segments

Sections 5, 6, and 7 are related to the potential customers of the business and the relationship that could be established between the customer and the business.

The two last sections refer to the financial structure of the business, specifically in the capacity to generate revenues and the costs required:
