Skip to 0 minutes and 10 secondsIn this video, Servane talks about the importance of getting the story of your business across to your public. I encourage you to reflect on what story do you have to communicate to your audience? I am going to start by saying something a bit funny because it's not about you. It's not about your social enterprise. It’s always about who is in front of you is going to listen to your story. So what do you want people to go away with? What do you want them to understand? You want them to understand a few things. Why on earth are you doing what you doing? And it should hold in one sentence.

Skip to 0 minutes and 49 secondsFor instance, I am focusing on women social entrepreneurs because I think they’ve got products that impact people on planet and then because they don't have enough of a voice to be able to showcase what they’re doing. So I am focusing on helping them. And I know that they want it because they told me. And then you can go and give many examples.

Skip to 1 minute and 12 secondsSo, the people who listen to you need to understand why you're doing what you're doing, who you're doing it with, and then they also need to understand have you got any proof that what you are doing is actually working? Even if it's a pilot. You need to demonstrate that. You can’t just work on assumptions. So you need to tell a story of these things, OK? And in simple words, and impactful words, in words that resonate with your audience. It might be that your pitch will change, because the audience will change. So the simpler your pitch, the better.

Pitching your idea
